The Furo X is an ultralightweight folding electric bike. Ready to ride in seconds, the carbon fibre frame keeps the weight down to just 15kg, including the motor and battery!

Available to comply with the maximum ‘oomph’ allowable on British roads, the Bafang system is set to 250W and 25Kph. The battery is equally capable at 378Wh: more than enough for the vast majority of daily commuter’s needs.

Where this little number really excels, is when it is used in conjunction with an intercity commute which relies on some form of public transport along the way. You can fold it up and take it onto both the Overland and Underground at peak times without fuss, then zip off again in your best clothes without queuing, sweating or snagging.

The Furo X’s rapid folding mechanism in the middle of the frame and you can also unlock/eject the battery for charging off-bike (for indoor/in-office top-up’s).

The combination of an ultralightweight and electric boosted bike is a treat for urban living. Crowded hallways and lifts are no big deal, as the small footprint provides great flexibility.

Folding features aside, the carbon fibre frame is comparable with the styling of many top end racing frames: forget the crummy old brazing of yesteryear, we expect far more these days – including hydraulic disk brakes as standard! There are 9-speed Shimano gears and indicators on the rear as well as the Lithium Ion battery and backlit LCD display.

All in all, the Furo X is a glorious package for zipping past The Bromptons on your way from the Thames to Hyde Park, or to work, or for whatever and wherever tickles your fancy!
