Mando: Footloose IM (Iconic Mobility)
Simple, elegant, intelligent. Three words to conjure-up the majority of well designed 21st Century products. Yet, to apply these to a bicycle requires something more than just technology.
(Hint: It’s already won both a Red Dot and a Good Design Award in 2015 and it’s predecessor won the IF Product Design Award. No small feat!)
The Mando Footloose is a bicycle you can use every day in London.
The Mark Saunders Designed Mando Footloose carries 25 years of his design expertise in one cutting edge design. Gone are the seemingly new carbon fibre belt drives and such like. In their place, the throttle is managed by your input to the pedals and if desired, a twist-shift. Fly-by-wire on two wheels. No chain required.
Does this turn the riding experience into a much feared ‘math’s lesson’? Not at all. If anything, it’s easy to forget that the onboard circuitry manages the ride for you.
The internal battery is removable too so you can charge it up indoors (and/or in-between meetings). You can also eject the screen for added security: you can’t pedal off without it.
