Balance bikes are much easier for kiddos to learn with than the hefty stabiliser versions of yesteryear: they begin by walking over the bike, then as their confidence grows they’ll raise their feets off the ground and then roll along. This alleviates the awkward stage of capsizing when stabilisers are removed, because they learn to balance instead of leaning on training wheels. Also, you can teach them somewhere flat and smooth like the green to the park, rather than launching them from the top of a hill with fingers and toes crossed.
