This is beyond question, Early Rider’s most rewarding bike! At a little over 5.5kgs for the 14” version, the Belter Series sets the standard others can only dream of following. With every kilo on a 3 year olds’ bike being the equivalent of 4 or 5 on an adult bike, this is 5kgs lighter than most 16″ bikes. Quite the difference to a child.

It’s not just the weight either, everything is designed for low rolling resistance. High psi tyres, cartridge bearing hubs and even bespoke full bearing aluminium pedals all play a part. Yet it is the belt drive that steals the show, a belt will never stretch like a chain, it’ll never be gunked up by dirt and grease and it will be as good the day your kid has finished with it as the day they first rode it.

Gears? Automagic! The rear wheel integrates an automatic Sturmey Archer 2 Speed Gear Hub. It starts in the low gear to get going and then changes up when the bike reaches the medium speed (138% higher ratio), then back down again when slower.
